So I was best friends with this guy at my work last year. He had a girlfriend at the time now he’s single and I had a crush on him. Since last year I now live one hour away from him. I reached out to him a week ago and it seemed like he was surprised to hear from me. I have his number from a friend but decided to contact him through Instagram because I never actually got the number directly from him (I’m shy to ask) On instagram we spoke about maybe catching up in person. He messages with meaning, punctuation and emojis. However when I mentioned getting together I got the dreaded I’ll let you know. He is busy with school. But he said twice he would FOR SURE let me know about getting together. It has been six days since that text and I still haven’t heard anything. I’m bad at waiting but I don’t want to get forgotten. Would it sound desperate of me to ask how his week is going or something since it has been so long since he said he’d “let me know”?

I'd leave him alone until he let's you know. If he's sincere, he'll contact you when he wants to, and if he's insincere, what would another poke buy you?
