Dylan111
This has been happening to me since I started middle school in 2009. For the last 6 years(2009 to now, 2015) 99% of the time I have planned things with friends and they never show up. They would never give me a explanation as to why, and worse some of them(again, 99% of the time) have planned things with me and they cancel on the day of last minute with no explanation. This has been going on for 6 years. I'm sick of it, most of my friends are my age(teens) and some of them are in their 20's. None of my friends have jobs, or very important things to do. Some of them even post on social media of them doing things right after they canceled on me. I am not a bad friend, I don't know why this always happens to me. What would you do? How do you find real friends? Link to comment
appies
Unfortunately, people are flakey. As you age you get better at judging who is or isn't worth your time and put the effort into people that care for you. Link to comment
ghostgirl116
when you get out of school and go to college and/or find gainful employment, I think you will open yourself to better friendship opportunities. maybe you can join a meetup for people your age? your current "friends" sound a bit flakey to me. Dottieflanogon
When making plans with flakey friends I try to assume they won't follow through. I include other people or have a plan B that doesn't rely on the flake. If they end up not flaking, then I'm pleasantly surprised. When they do flake: eh, go figure. If I let myself count on them and they bail I just end up bummed out Link to comment
