First, if you like the guy, what do you care what sorts of stuff he does in private? Once a week doesn't sound all that crazy, in fact it's pretty common... Drinking is better?

 

Second, the guy sounds weak for saying he wouldn't do it anymore. I imagine that's a huge turnoff. If a girl said something like that to me, I'd say, 'see ya'.

 

Maybe you fundamentally don't like the guy. Is he great in every other way aside from that?

 

His lying to you is a bad red flag. If he really likes you, then maybe you can let it squeeze by since it's a white lie to prevent you from leaving. I think the bigger problem is you don't like him.
