Recently, with my current situation, I have come accross many song lyrics that just seem like they are "telling my story".

I totally agree. It's funny... It wasn't until I fell in love that songs started to have more meaning. I can't get away from listening to the lyrics of every song on the radio now. I seem to find a way of relating to ALL them. It's like a curse!

When I fell in love with my ex it seemed like all the songs on the radio were about being in love. Even the cheesy ones got to me, like the link removed .

 

Now I can't move for hearing break up songs But there is one song that has had a huge impact on me after we split. The song is 'Dry your eyes' by link removed. It was like someone had read my mind and put it in a song a surreal sensation. It almost perfectly describes the time my girlfriend broke up with me. For weeks, hearing it sent a shiver down my spine and made me stop whatever I was doing. It was reassuring to know that other men had gone through the same thing though. This song, more than anything else, helped me realise that, no matter how painful, I had to accept the situation and move on, even though it would hurt...

 

 

 

The artist is Mike Skinner, a young guy who seems to have a knack of putting real life experiences in to song in a direct and original way. Some of the media in the UK tout him as a 'modern day Shakespeare', but he deserves all the plaudits for this song. You can stream the video from link removed

I thought it was amazing too how suddenly all the songs meant more than just a nice voice and good beat. Before I ever felt anything I said "Why is it that all anyone can sing about is love?" Well, now it makes sense. There are a couple songs I like, but I think this one is the one which makes me feel the most. Perhaps not the conviction that the other person will realize that we're meant to be.. but the rest of it nearly makes me cry.

For me its breaking the habit by linkin park. Because, it was a band I really enjoyed listening to with her and the times I had with her but now its so symbolic. The lyrics for me mean word 4 word what Im going through. Just stopping the compulsive thinking of her and how she feels. and just trying to break the habit of missing the memories and picking myself apart. Does anyone else feel like this?

OMG PA, I LOVE THAT SONG The song that tell's my story is "You'll Be In My Heart" by Phill Collins. It's the song out of Tarzan, at the end of it. When I listen to the words of it it is as if it was written for me and my baby. It is exactly the way we feel about each other and our situation of being apart on other sides of the planet.
