Is it normal not to have periods whilst on the Implant

Hey Guys,

 

I had a contraceptive implant put in a few months back and I haven't had a period since. The doctors said my periods may be "Lighter" but didn't mention they would/could stop. I already had pretty light periods so am just wondering if this is the reason?

 

I did a pregnancy test after missing my second period and it was negative. I have no problems talking to the doctor about this however I don't want to waste there time if someone here could tell me this is common.

is it the one in the arm?one of my ex's used to get irregular periods when she had the arm implant i mean real irregular sometimes she wouldnt come on for months then sometimes she would be on for months.

think it is common tho if i remember what the doc said to her when she went in (i went in for support incase it was anything worse)
