He's a down to earth guy?

i don't get it when a girl says that's he's a down to earth guy. what does that mean?

um, usually when I think/say that i mean...easy going, mature, really nice, good outlook on life.....got your head screwed on basically.

A down to earth person is someone who is realistic, not fazed by someone fake. I would definitely consider someone saying that about a friend or I to be a pretty significant compliment.

Well, other than that he is in his grave, I think it means that he is practical, has common-sense and that he doesn't have an over-inflated ego.

When I say that someone is a "down to earth" person, I mean that they are easy to relate to. They may be intelligent and well-educated, but they can speak with anyone without being condescending. They're decent and not totally into themselves, to the exclusion of the other person.
