So about a week ago I finally mustered up the courage to tell one of my closest friends that I liked her.

She said she needed time to think because she didn't want to ruin what we have right now

I don't know what my question really is, but I guess I just want to know, for all the ladies out there, what does this usually mean?

It means, in my opinion..One of two things.

 

1 - She doesn't like you and didn't know how to tell you, so came up with the ''I don't wanna ruin our friendship'' line.

 

Or 2 - She genuinely is confused and doesn't know how she feels.

 

Unfortunately it's impossible for us to tell. It really could be either.

 

Now you've told her how you feel the best thing you can do is give her space. It probably wasn't the reaction you wanted..but you never know what the future may bring so be patient and chill, and see what happens.

she never thought of you in that way. she now has to step back and look at the possibilities of dating you or saying no. or she doesn't want to date you and was letting you down lightly at that point.
