hey everyone...im new here and am looking for some advice. about 2 months ago my boyfriend of 3 1/2 years decided to tell me he wasnt happy with our relationship. we went all throughout college going out and then i moved about 6 months ago to go to graduate school (so we became a long distance relationship.) he gave me reasons from all different directions as to why he wasnt happy and so i said i wouldnt fight for the relationship and we broke up. this past weekend, i emailed him to wish him luck after his recent graduation (we had no contact since the breakup) and he wrote back with all these sorrys for the way he ended the relationship. he said he dragged on the relationship when deep down he didnt want to continue it. the email was very cold and ended with a "contact me if you ever need anything related to medicine" (hes going to med school.) i wrote him back and said that the no contact was best if for reasons that he fell out of love with me. i also wrote that if the reason was otherwise, to let me know. and he hasnt emailed me back. so basically i guess i got my answer : he fell out of love with me. i guess my question is, how can people love you one week and then just coldy send an email like he did, making me feel like im totally erased emotionally to him? do men act callous like that when theyre breaking up with someone? is this him disguising feelings that he has? i guess im just asking for some feedback on how i should interpret my situation and move on. im really having a hard time getting through this and i hate loving him still when apparently he doesnt love me back.
