Through the lush fields of grass.

The wind tickling our faces as we run.

We race til the end of the world encroaches,

then we turn around, and race the other way.

 

Only stopping to look at each other,

we stare deeply, our eyes twinkle.

Her soft face, her gentle touch,

the warmth from her hands.

 

She's the only one for me.

She's the light from the sky.

She wakes every morning with a smile.

She's the only one for me.

 

How was I to know, she took my heart,

and wrapped it around her fingers.

You asked for walls, I'll build them higher.

Laying in shadows of the past.

 

I speak softly, my heart is all I have to give.

I pleaded, I hoped, I wished,

you never came back, why, oh why?

Tomorrow's another day, treading ever so light.

 

My heart cried it's last requiem,

I looked to the sky for help.

The oceans glare, ever so taunting.

I walk the shore, alone, and stronger.

 

The love we shared, the memories,

the comfort of your words.

I thought you were my love,

I thought you were my hope.

 

Until another day, until another moment.

She walks with another,

another that shares the same passion.
