Expression
Just had a casual movie/dinner get-together and am feeling quite good. We haven't done anything couple-like, but we've spent time together pretty much exclusively, and I feel very I really wanna get her something for Xmas. Not something declaring my undying love or anything but something I know she'd like. I've got 2 ideas, but one is rather ambitious. So I'm wondering, would it be too drastic to get something pricey and is it better to go with something simple the first time? Link to comment
annie24
i would get her something small and simple. like a box of chocolates, or a winter scarf. I wouldn't give her anything big and flashy right now, because then imagine what she will be expecting on your 1 year anniversary? a plasma TV? yikes! Link to comment
amtjrtcet
I agree with Annie. If you guys haven't been together for too long I wouldn't do anything too over the top, Link to comment
ImThatGirl
What are the two ideas you have in mind? Link to comment
annie24
Take your monthly income. Subtract monthly commitments, such as rent/mortgage/car loan. This should include the minimum payment on credit cards and utility bills. Divide by 150. Multiply by the number of months you've been dating up to a maximum of 12. Double this if you're engaged or living together. Treble it if you're married and don't have dependents. Stick to the same number if you have kids but double it for each kid. Elderly or disabled dependents living with you, take the figure and halve it. This is momene's equation for gift giving. I think it is good! Link to comment
