My Sad Month

[RWD2]

They say "When it rains, it pours,"

And "Bad things come in threes."

Well I'll show you how last August

It happened with me.

 

First I heard of the mother

Of some kids that I know

Dying in an accident.

Now she can't watch them grow.

 

Then another child I knew

Died at age eight,

Coming from a trip

That didn't end great.

 

Then to top it all off,

And the worst by far,

Was hearing of the death

Of my brother-in-law.

 

So that's how it was,

So I guess I'll just repeat,

"You have to know the bitter,

To appreciate the sweet!"

a truism... you can't know how to judge what is good until you know what is bad.

 

And it always does seem to happen in three's doesn't it..

Aw, it's really sad to hear all that happening but your poem does make a point, well done, very moving.
