It's easiest to get a number in a conversational friendly way if you have a reason to call. So this means ask her out BEFORE you call instead of the opposite. Make it something simple. Lunch, drinks, shopping. Then you can say "I'll call ya tomorrow and we'll figure something out." Now you have a reason to call as opposed nervously asking the question when she already knows why. Also this way you avoid the whole "how long do i wait to call" thing.
