tyler711
Anyone ever worked in this field (as an officer of course)? I've done some soul searching on what I wanna be when I "grow up" and I think this is it. Been applying to some police academies. Any advice? Link to comment
shyanne
no but i have a cousin that's a RCMP officer and we're very proud of her.. i'm sure you'll make your mom proud and worried... my advise, start working out.. you'll need to be in shape for all the training you'll be doing at the academy. good luck and great choice Link to comment
serve_the_people
1. Don't do drugs 2. Do lots of volunteer work 3. Get strong 4. Get experience in resolving crisis situations 5. Study hard 6. Discipine yourself to be punctual 7. Show leadership in every situation 8. Anticipate how working at night and working rotating shifts will affect your personal life (ie. will your future wife sleep well at night knowing you are out working at night??? ) Link to comment
friscodj
Search the Internet for your state/county/local police's website. Read it in detail, and contact some of the contacts listed with specific questions... Here's a site I just found with a preliminary questionnaire: link removed link removed Good luck...
