Do you know this girl? If so, try to talk with her about her interests or hobbies.

If you don't know her so much, why not talk about movies, news, actuality (but something light, that does not involve polemic issues)?

man date are easy as walking or speaking. YOu can do that right? No I know you can do it. State some joke, easy joke not too long not too short I have no idea at the moment but you will find. Make her smile, then tell her how beautiful she is. Stay calm and relax, all will be ok, i am sure of this. I hope I helped you a bit.

I know from experience that the more you worry about what to talk about, the more difficult it will be. Relax, chat to her the way you'd chat to a friend, and you'll find plenty to talk about.

i agree, i'm shy myself and more of a person not to talk. but one way to break the ice is to talk about something like what her interest are, does she play any sports, involved in the outdoors, likes animals or does she have any animals (pets) soft topics not HEAVY topics like Terrorism in the world, or SARS things like that lead to both people saying "ummmmm yea this was a bad thing to talk about" be yourself and whatever you do DONT TALK about an Ex Girlfriend or yourself to much..thats another No No on a first date.. 8)
