Inksama
Hey guys, I just wanted to ask as I have no experience with this. Valentines is coming up. From my country, it is the girl who gives gifts to the guy, but I have heard that in the US it is the guy...? Nonetheless, I got him chocolate last year. So, what's the cultural thing in the US with Valentines? With gift giving? Is it just chocolate or physical gifts also? Thanks in advance. Link to comment
annie24
haha, i think US store owners want both men and women to give gifts!! better for the economy! a box of chocolates is perfect. i think statistically, men spend more on gifts for their women than the other way around. if you want to get him something you think he would like, that would be nice too (book, videogames, etc...) MsAdorkable
Here in the US men and women can give Valentine's gifts and it is appreciated. Something simple like chocolates is great. If you happen to be decent in the kitchen you could always bake him cookies or brownies and that would be very thoughtful as well. Link to comment
goodfoot
Are "physical gifts" what I think they are? Link to comment
MsAdorkable
Are "physical gifts" what I think they are? LOL! When I first read this thread I thought that meant non-edible but still tangible gifts like a book or a gadget or something. But I suppose it could mean something a little more adult as well lol.
