First date apparel?

I'm going on my first date since divorce, so it's been a long time.

 

I'm going to wear a nice black and grey polo. Should I wear a nice pair of jeans or black pants?

Depends where youre going. I prefer caaual first dates, so Id say jeans. But.really depends what you are doing, and where you live.

Then Id say jeans. Preferably DARK WASH. Just make sure your shoes are cool/nice ( no gym shoes)

please, please, I'm begging you, switch the shirt to a button-up with rolled up sleeves. polos are casual for the day (and outdoors activities, mainly) - at night they smell of bowling alley (unless you are so smoking hot you can get away with wearing a potato sack). and yeah, cool shoes.

edit: yes, dark jeans. if you think it might be cold, invest on a cool jacket, and then you can even get away with a cool t-shirt if you wish.

I am new to this as well after a very long term marriage (35 years). I have figured out a pretty good outfit for dating. Long sleeve button down dress shirt, dark jeans and lowish heels with jewelery. If it is cool I add a blazer. I don't want boobs hanging out but I don't want to give off a "tight shirt" message. I use this type outfit often.

Make sure your shoes don't have holes in them. haha! I went out with a guy this week....and I noticed.
