livia_eve25
Ok, here's the deal, my boyfriend has an abusive step-father. I was wondering if there are any support groups for teens like Teens Against Abuse or something like that? Link to comment
avman
Do you mean a support group for you to help him deal with it? Or a support group for your friend who is being abused? There are both kinds of groups available. It depends on where you live. Link to comment
i_hate_the_world47
There are organizations for teenabuse.Though i dont know any off the top of my head,if you look around on the net im sure you'll find one. Also there are hotlines you can call.Your boyfriend is lucky to have someone like you to help him.Good luck and if you ever need to talk or anything like that feel free to PM me. ~meagan~ Link to comment
livia_eve25
i mean like, how there is MADD and SADD for drunk driving, what is there for abuse? Link to comment
avman
There is not a nationwide/worldwide organization like that. At least not that I am aware of. However there are regional programs in nearly every city. Your friend really will need some individual counseling as well and the authorities need to intervene to stop the abuse. There are also forums on the web dedicated solely to abuse (although we will certainly help you here too). What kind of abuse is it? Is it physical or sexual? There are different focus groups for each type. Link to comment

avman
Here are some links I found to help: link removed link removed link removed I'm not sure how old you are but I am guessing you are still in school. I'd bring this up with a school counselor if you can and try to get your friend to come with you and speak to them. They can intervene on his/her behalf and also point you to local programs that can help your friend. Link to comment
