Question about 2nd hand cribs??

A friend gave me a crib million dollar baby? But how do i know if it is still ok to use?? I have looked online but not sure where to look if anyone knows where please let me know thanks.

My sister talked about this when she had a used cot given to her. Its the mattress thats the problem from what i gather. It has been said that using the same mattress could increase the chances of sudden infant death syndrome.

Anyway to be on the safe side my sister replaced the mattress..

Well i planned on buying a new mattress, but the crib it self is about 2 yrs old or so i think so i just didnt know it the crib it self was safe or should i buy a new one?

How old is the crib?

 

As long as the mattress fits snugly into the crib, the rails are on it is no more then 2 inches apart also make sure the paint isnt chipping or it doesn't have any spliters and make sure all the parts fit together and everything is "secure". If all of that is ok it should be fine.

 

I would also suggest buying a new mattress atleast ( they are fairly cheap).

Well as long as the crib is in good order & you replace the mattress it will be fine

Also if possible, get the model and lot number and do a recall search it's simple.

 

If you are still unsure i'd buy a new one.

How do i do the recall search? THats what i was trying to do i have all those nums
