dragon111
the quotes kind of make the smily face look like it is beaming with happyness, so yeah, maybe an excited (almost vibrational) kind of hapyness Link to comment

just M.E.
I send that to someone in an email or a text if I feel like smiling and want to let them know that I am feeling that way I think that is what it means and the same with a semi-colon is a winking smile, I think Link to comment
Clementine orange
follow up: OK, I'm an idiot (an enthusiastic one). The quotation marks are there because the message came via facebook to my email and it always puts whatever was said in my facebook message in quotes. It was just a regular smiley face after all. I'm still rubbing my hands with glee though because of what she said in the next message. Which I'm not going to share with you all...sorry. Thanks for helping all you hipsters. Btw here's your vocabulary lesson for the day - it's "hep" not "hip" - though everyone says hip because the word has been transformed since it was born (in the 50s I'm guessing) Link to comment

ghost69
what was funny about 'beaming'? anyways, even if the person did put quotes on it, it's still text. don't read into things like that so much. Link to comment
lil kitty
why do you have to come in ruined my laugh like that? I find it's funny the first time he said "sorry no one hip in here" and the second time he guess what the smiley means. I am easily amused that's all Link to comment
