Quick question regarding part-time jobs

What is the average amount of time (hours per day) for a part-time job (i.e. restaurant, club, etc)?

 

Just curious. It's not one of those questions that you can just Google for.

where i live its not hours per day its hours per week that make it full or part time, you could be looking at 4 to 8 hours dialy no more than 40 hours a week

 

i used to work two 8 hour days and two 4 hour days a week but it varies job to job and state to state

yeah, part time can be anything less than 35 hours per week and it depends on the company how many hours they want you to work a day. they tend to be more flexible with when you can work OR they have set days.

Part time is usually less than 35 hours. This could mean 1 hour a week, or 35 hours a week. Often employers looking for someone almost full time will hire them at 35 hours a week, to avoid having to worry about benefits, etc.

 

When I worked part time, I worked anywhere from 10 hours - 30 hours a week depending on my classes/activities and the season too. And "lucky me" will get to look for a part time job again in the fall while I go back to school. I am hoping I can find a decent part time filing/admin position or something though with my office experience!

Its based on the availability you give them at the beginning

but part time can range from 4 hrs per week - 25 hrs per week

i work part time and i get scheduled around 9-10 hrs/week

40 hours a week on average is a full time job. Anything less in my mind is a part time job. Plus, as others have said, part time jobs are usually much more flexible as far as shifts go.

Around here its usually 15-20 hours, sometimes going up to 35
