I think he missed it because it basically said it doesn't have to be this month but at some point...very vague. The text also had other topics in it. Basically he was complimenting and joking with me about the other topics using exclamation points, lols, and completely missed the hanging out part. Something like "would you like to get coffee on Thursday" is much more direct and obvious. Ask him on a date. None of this vague "will you hang out with me sometime" nonsense.
