Well the rain fell down

And the fog lifted up

To reveal you smiling at me

 

Well the day was fading

As night came into focus

And all the sky's stars shone only on…

Walked in the rain

Sat under the sun

Hand-in-hand fought the pain

Lived like we were young

And when all of that was done

Gazed up at the moon shining in the sky

 

Well the world spun me round

But my feet found the ground

And I felt so good just to be

 

Well life's not a cake-walk

And lots of people, they talk

But I know even the blind could see…

Talked about our past

I don't know if you were looking for a melancholy feel to this or an upbeat toe-tapping kind of thing, but I read it with an upbeat, song-in-your-heart kind of way, and this really moved along well! Of course, I'm sure I put pauses in there that you might not expect to get the upbeat feel going, but if I could sing, I'd let you hear how it sounds in my head.. LOL! Good stuff!

Yeah, actually it is meant to be upbeat...it has some bitter-sweet aspects to it...but yeah mostly it is meant to be a more happy piece...sort of a reflection on good times. Maybe I'll have to sing it and send ya the sound file so you could hear how I hear it, LOL.
