I don't think it's necessary to shave your pubic hair if you are a guy. It's not really needed for a girl either as long as it's not too hairy.

Note on the fingering... some girls are going to be really really tight and any hard, fast, or deep motions are going to be painful. For inexperienced girls I would recommend that you just play around with the clit.
