Soreness in gums after dental filling?

So I went into my dentist office last week for a filling. Since then, there has been a moderate level of pain where they injected the anesthetic. I know it's usual to have some discomfort afterwards, but I'm afraid it may have gotten infected somehow (the area feels somewhat tough to the touch). If anyone has had a similar experience any advice would be great. I'm planning on giving my dentist a call to see what the deal is tomorrow..

A week is in general too long, you best better go back.(as long as you know that person is a really good dentist)

I'd say a call is definitely in order, at the very least.

 

If I recall correctly, I've had one or two instances where the same thing's happened. But it wouldn't hurt to check with the dentist.
