I wouldn't mind going as friends, in fact! That might be better like, "will you go to winter formal with me, as friends?"

I've had a crush on this girl for about 3 years now and we've been friends for 2.5. We've done cross country and track in that time. I know her family really well. She's had 2 boyfriends in that time, one being my good friend and the other I've gotten to known in Photo. Idea #1: I was thinking of asking her to the Winter Formal dance. I was going to go to her house at like 5 and give her a ring (not a expensive one) and ask her. We've been friends and she knows I've liked her for years and she's seen my many rejections, stand ups, and one of my dance dates ditch me. Idea #2: go as a UPS guy and give the ring in the box. and make her sign for it on a paper that says, "Will you go to winter formal with me?" Is the way too cheesy or stupid or somehting like that?

Hey, I'm almost 18 and everytime I've asked a girl out (about 4) they tell me like the next day, "just so things are clear n all... i just want to be friends". I'm really not too sure what this means. Could someone elaborate for me? Thanks. This time it would've been my first 'actually go out and do something date' instead of like school dance and date. (Those never really went to good because the girls always say they're too tired to dance) I asked a girl on Tuesday after school and gave her this 3 foot plastic rose. She said she was free next Tuesday (Because going out of town this weekend). today she told me she just wanted be friends online. So, we're still going on the date right? (I forgot to ask and she just left) What do you people think? And since I don't drive, I was going to have my friend chauffeur. I already told everyone who saw me ask her that she said yes, is it a no now? Thanks.
