I'm not saying that now that I've watched this one movie my life will be only good from now on. I just happened to enjoy it a lot and I don't think that my happiness with seeing how open people can potentially be with this particualr situation is necessarily a bad thing. I've been hiding behind who I am and fighting it back my whole life and the process of coming to terms with who I really am is very hard and I enjoyed watching something that was uplifting and that showed how open something like this can be. The movie wasnt all rainbows and unicorns either, they did a great job showing the negative side as well, showing the violence and hate that also comes with the openess of being gay/lesbian which made it more realistic. I know movies arent real life - I'm not going to go watch Spiderman and try to get bit by a spider tomorrow so I can get superpowers... I just thought I'd post something positive to the site about something I was excited about is all.
