  1. @DarkCh0c0 I'm afraid anything I contribute here has probably already been said, however I feel concerned enough to say it again. Please trust your gut. If something feels wrong from the get-go, maybe it's your instinct giving you a message? You sound very articulate and intelligent, so I'd think you might be able to easily get a different job by looking elsewhere. I think your desire to have a bit of a challenge in this possible position is admirable, however change does not necessarily happen in toxic environments. Quite often, a difficult/dysfunctional culture has occurred over some time, and old patterns with the same toxic people can be tough to break; as I said, I admire you wanting a challenging role, but is it work placing yourself in an overly complex environment? Maybe there is anothef much better career path out there for you which may not involve quite as much potentially damaging scenarios. I hope you find the right decision and are at peace with it. 🙏
  2. Ummmm....that seems like a bit of overreaction on your friends part. I would not think a request for ice would have killed a potential job, nor would I think a good friend would call you out like that? In front of someone else? That seems a little harsh. 🤔
  3. Absorb each experience which comes your way; always learn from the journey.

  4. I think this is a brilliantly simple statement @LootieTootie 😊 Not everything is going to be perfect in life, nor the best possible fit, blend, or collaboration. If this was your main job @Alex39 I think you may want to give it more attention and consider if it's a long-term growth process or suitable career move. But the thing about part-time jobs is they are generally temporary and not something we identify with for the rest of our working years; they are meant to fill a need outside of our regular lives. It is possible to come in, do quality work to the best of our abilities, and then leave at the appropriate time. Doing one's best is always essential, however past your being a hard worker and quality employee, the long term future of this company is not technically in your hands. Fortunately, it seems as if your full-time job is a good fit and you are happy and challenged there. If I may offer a bit of advice, from someone who has been in your exact shoes, it would be to not overthink or second-guess every situation you find yourself in, because you may wind up becoming anxious and stressed simply over things which are not in your control. Wishing you all the best! ✨️👍💕
  5. Hi there @CuriousKitten! I think it's great that you are looking at goals and areas in which you can achieve.....after all, lots of people TALK about change, but you are actually mapping out some concrete paths and making an effort. I agree it helps to have an "accountability partner" but it's not necessary for your personal growth; changes come from within, not always because they are shared. With that said, please consider focusing more on the positive side of things? Example; you did some exercises and stretching and it made you feel great, right? Why not sit down and list the reasons WHY that made you happy, or feel fulfilled, or more energetic, and keep that with you as a reminder. This way you're constantly reinforcing the positive steps taken and working to put the progress front and center in your life. That's the spirit of "wanting to become better". 🙂😍
  6. I'm so sorry this is happening to you. It probably feels pretty raw, hearing nasty words or things said, but perhaps after you cool off you might think more calmly. For starters, consider the source; if certain people find it fulfilling to talk badly about others and fill their time with blame and judgement...well, what does that say about them? 🤔 Perhaps not the quality individuals you could see yourself getting to know better? Maybe another place would be worth looking into to spend time at.
  7. Thank you, I will! Just trying to figure out how to explain something. 🙂
  8. Hi there..... I'm a new member, well actually an old lurker 😁, who has never posted before. Came by last night and read through many of the posts and threads on here, and it was such a refreshing and uplifting experience to see so many comments of support and encouragement left by members. There are many sites which do not seem to offer such an empathetic vibe and I just wanted to say thank you! Found several threads relating to what I'm going through "friend/friendship that is struggling and not quite sure how to help" type of scenario, and I'm grateful for the peace and wisdom I found here. Appreciate your kind words! Have a great day. 😊
