Sounds like he likes you, but he's just too shy, because he knows you like him he is now deliberately trying to avoid eye contact, ask him for the time or for help with a class then take it from there, that way he at least has to talk to you.

Hey, over the passed few days I've been building up the confidence and then at lunch me and a few friends went and talked to her, I tried making eye contact with her but she never looked at me (even when I was speaking) one of my friends said she likes me but he might just be joking around.

Im not really sure what to do next, only 1 week left till the exams and then 1 month of school after that, any ideas about how to start, at least talking to her?

screw them, if they're like that they aren't real friends anyway, im sure she will be a much better friend to you than any of them.

heh, sounds like a position im in, if you know her name you should say "Hi 'name' " because everyone likes it when someone you dont really know, knows your name, just a tip.

Also, try to get to know her a little more before asking her to see you after school, most girls dont like meeting people they dont really know.

Hey man, I'm having the exact same problem, just try and smile and make eye contact with her, then mabye after she sees you a few times say hi, and start a convo. (Thats what I plan to do anyway)

Hey, im a 16 year old guy who is still at school, iv seen this girl whos the same age as me but not in any of my classes, I really want to talk to her but I cant think of any ways to start it without seeming like im 'chatting her up', any ideas?

Also, i find her hot, but i wouldn't mind just being friends with her, so i don't want to ask her out too soon.
