  1. My first time ever reading it. Heard it's sweet. Ebook is over 1600 pages. Should be done by Thanksgiving image removed
  2. The Green Mile by Stephen King. Haven't read this in a while. I have the original six book series too
  3. Finishing it up tonight. Four issues a night over three nights. image removed
  4. It's a very interesting read. I'm about 3/4 of the way through. I had read two long fiction books before and wanted to get back into non-fiction, so I took a chance with this because I knew about the mass suicide thing only vaguely, and didn't really know much else at all about it. You know how you always hear like serial killers started by killing animals when they were kids and stuff? Similarly, Jim Jones was a master manipulator from a very early age. He would have audiences and keep them as long as he possibly could in his barn loft and do "healing" shows and that type of thing. It was a very good choice for a book. It's a really, really creepy book because it actually happened, but it describes how he used fear, making himself the victim, and going on the offensive to have absolute control over his "church." It's just incredible, because his inner circle were mostly educated people.
  5. I am preparing to be thoroughly creeped out. image removed
  6. Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. Really good. Read it senior year of high school.
  7. Rainbow Six by Tom Clancy. I haven't read it since I was in middle school. Ultimate fantasy book.
  8. The Good Soldiers by David Finkel. Great so far. Sad at the terrible waste of life, but good book.
  9. Speaking of infuriating reads, if you're into geopolitics in modern times and human rights, you should check out Dirty Wars. Such a good, scary read. I'm still in the middle of it, but it's been so enlightening so far.
  10. I really liked this one. I had read in reviews that it was kind of the most comprehensive one, but it's the only Ripper book I've read. If you've never read Helter Skelter, that's probably the creepiest. Charles Manson is like 5-2. They found him hiding under a bathroom sink. Today I began a book about my government's drone program and covert warfare: image removed
  11. The Complete History of Jack the Ripper by Philip Sugden. So far? Scary and weird.
  12. Finally arrived yesterday. So exited to have started this tonight. It's already bringing back so many memories from news stories, games, and press conferences when I was a kid. It's about the season of the Bulls' 90-91 season in which they won their first championship. It details how Jordan would always belittle his team mates and yell and curse at everyone, but how he ultimately learned that he needed to play to their strengths so they could win. image removed
  13. I went to a photo shop several years ago and had a picture of him in his dress blues in 1943 right before he left made into a full size photo. It's really cool. He's 18, but it looks just like him and he has a wiseguy smirk lol. I also have the little pouch for the compass. He put his name/initials on everything. The compass has "E Co. 22nd Reg. Okinawa" on the side as well. Reading this book really makes it so real for me.
  14. image removed My grandpa was 19 when he landed with the 6th Marines on Okinawa. He never talked about it. He was wounded in the leg. I now have his bayonet and Army Corps of Engineers Compass.
  15. Finished his book on Antietam and started this one. So good for strategy geeks like myself. image removed
  16. I've only read The Road and Blood Meridian. of his. Both depressing but good. Currently: image removed
  17. ^Loved that book! I read it in the summer between seventh and eighth grade.
