Anyone make own colloidal silver gel?

I'm in New Zealand. I used to buy kits to make it - but they stopped selling. I make my own liquid. Anyone make the gel? Where do you get the ingredients and how do you know they are safe to put on your skin?

I have never heard of or done this myself, but a Google search produced these instructions:

It sounds rather complicated, but all the ingredients/tools seem pretty straightforward and available pretty much anywhere.
