  1. This may sound completely strange, but my wife of two months just came to me and said she had a cold sore on her lip which is strange because she claims that she never had one before. I have never had one either and we are both 30. Now I know that you can get herpes simplex through other means than just kissing and intercourse, but exacly how close do you have to be to get it? Also, how long is the incubation period on this? (i.e., how long does it normally take to contract the disease and then exhibit symptoms? Can you have it for years and never know?) I know I sound paranoid, but about six weeks before we were married I had thought she might have kissed or even slept with another guy which I confronted her about but she completely denied. I was overly analyzing a lot and I jumped to a lot of conclusions. I totally believed her since the time frame of the alleged incident was inconsistent anyway and she was really upset that I thought that about her so close to our wedding. I had my reasons but I put it in the past and we moved on. I have no reason to doubt her in any way other than that one small area. So I ask, does this mean anything?
