I’m going to tell him. And I’m hoping he won’t do it again. I only occasionally work at this place when my aunt and uncle need help. I hope to god he’d never show up at my real job!

Hi all. Thank you for the advice. I’m going to tell my boyfriend. Not because I want there to be drama but I don’t like the thought of hiding something from him. And if some girl he knew did this to him I would definitely want to know about it!

About five months ago I started dating a guy friend of mine. For a while we kept it not exactly secret but kind of on the down low. We weren’t really trying to hide our relationship but we were taking it slow and only a couple friends and his sister knew we had become more than friends. Last month I changed my relationship status on Facebook to reflect that we were in a relationship. He knew I was going to do it and didn’t really care as he has Facebook but rarely ever logs onto it. So after that most of our friends, family members and acquaintances became aware that we were a couple now. Well earlier this week a guy that is a part of our friend group, he’s been friends with my boyfriend since they were in high school, showed up at a place I sometimes work on the weekends. I will occasionally help my aunt and uncle out at their bar when they are short handed and tend bar for them. It’s something I did the whole time I was in college and enjoy interacting with their regulars and helping my aunt and uncle out. This guy showed up which isn’t too unusual because friends of ours will come there sometimes if I’m tending bar. He’d been there a couple times with other friends but this time showed up alone. He acted weird the whole night like he was nervous or something. Then he out of the blue asks me what I see in my boyfriend. How did I decide to pick him over all my other guy friends, and didn’t I ever know he always wanted to date me. I was pretty taken aback by this because to be honest I never really talked with him much. Well I just said that when it comes to my boyfriend I always looked at him differently from other guys. No offense to them but I always liked him. But he persisted and started talking about how my boyfriend doesn’t even have a college degree like I do. I’m really confused at this point because I’ve never even thought about that. Then he basically started to tell me that he’d be a better choice for me because he’s got a degree and therefore a better future!?!? I was getting pretty annoyed because he’s supposed to me my boyfriend’s friend and he was kind of talking down about him. So I told him that and asked what my boyfriend would think if he knew he was one talking kind of badly about him and two trying to talk his girlfriend into going out with him instead? I really have never looked down on my boyfriend over this. He went into the military after high school, tried college and didn’t like it, and now he has a job he seems to really like (he’s a mail carrier) and he seems like he’s doing fine and has I think a bright future. He works hard and he has a good head on his shoulders. So I told this guy I thought it was terrible what he was trying to do and that he was being a bad friend. So he left all upset. Like I just crushed him or something. Anyway I’m left really confused about this weird situation. I really don’t know if I should say something to my boyfriend. The whole thing was odd to say the least. I really don’t want to make drama between them. Should I just forget it ever happened?

He did, but he’s also crazy and drove way more aggressively than I did. One of these days I’m going to get him to some batting cages because I played softball in high school and I’m pretty sure I’ll outhit him.

Hey everyone! We went indoor go kart racing as the weather here was pretty cold Saturday night. Thank you all so much for your excellent suggestions! I’m definitely going to try a lot of them!

I don’t know if I could do skydiving! Those other ideas all sound so good though!

We are going to Detroit next weekend to see Metallica together! We actually bought the tickets last year when we were still just friends, but we’ve been looking forward to it for a while!

Mini golf would be fun but it’s so cold here in Ohio right now I don’t think we’d have a good time. I’d love to take him to a game but tickets to the NBA are so expensive and he has season tickets to our NFL team and we’ve been to several games together. I’m thinking of indoor go karting. It’s looks fun and I know he’d have a blast.

Hi all! I am trying to come up with some quirky or unusual date ideas. My guy took me axe throwing last weekend which was so fun and I want to think of something a little different for this weekend. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated!

So here’s my update! We went out to dinner together and after some back and forth discussion we decided to go to a Puerto Rican restaurant that we both like. I have to say it was a little awkward at first because I’m not sure either of us knew how to proceed but at one point we kind of locked eyes and both burst out laughing at the same time. After that I know I relaxed a bit and we ended up having a nice dinner and talked a lot about how we’ve both been Hank g the same thoughts and feelings for a while now but we’re both hesitant to bring it up to each other. After dinner he took me for ice cream and we made plans to have another date this Sunday. We both are willing to take our time and see what develops between us but I must say I think his sister is more excited about this whole thing than we are. She told me on the phone that she’s always thought we’d make a nice couple.

Hi to anyone Whit was interested in my situation. I will post an update later this evening after work as I am really busy today. I will just say for now that we had a really nice date!

Oh wow. I’m sorry I haven’t posted an update but it’s been a really busy week for me. So on our walk Sunday we were talking about our jobs and families and just catching up since we hadn’t seen each other in a while. And I said something to him about how much I admire how he handles everything he’s got on his plate right now. Then I said I think he’s a really incredible guy in general. I thought that was a good way to let him know that I do have feelings without being too pushy about it. So he smiled and actually took my hand. Now that’s not something he’s ever really done except once when we were leaving a football game last year and he was sort of guiding me through the crowd. So yeah that was nice. And he told me that he feels like he’s really lucky to have a friend like me and that he’s still surprised every day that we’ve gotten so close. At first I was thinking to myself that he meant literally that he only looks at me as a friend. So I just kind of said it out loud even though I was really nervous. I asked him if he’d ever thought about us being more than just friends. And I was talking so fast I’m not really sure what I said. But I asked him if he wanted me to stop talking and he said no because we probably should have had this talk a while ago. I’m sorry about lack of details because it’s all a blur to me. But the conversation was basically that we both said that we definitely both have feelings. I didn’t say the words “I love you” exactly but I think I made my point. He did say that he missed me a lot the last few weeks and had thought of me the whole time. That made me feel really good. So I asked him if he’d like to go out on an actual date with me. And he laughed and said he feels like a lot of our hanging out has been like dates but we were both too afraid to admit it. So yes, Saturday evening we’re going to go out and this time call it a date. One more thing, he did give me a kiss when he dropped me off and that definitely had never happened before.

Of course it will hurt if he chooses someone other than me. But he deserves to be happy no matter who he chooses. How would I feel if they kissed in front of me? I couldn’t answer that until it happened.

Oh my gosh, that is a really awkward situation!
