I can write endless poems
Each and every day I cannot see you
Cannot be with you
Cannot breathe you
I can write everlastingly
My lingering thoughts
Everything I feel
Everything I dream
I can see my future
On sunny, cloudy, and rainy days
With you I see it more clearly
With you impossible seems possible
I can see happiness
Possibly each and every day with you
Regardless of your religion
Regardless what they say about mine
I can believe in G-d
Because he must be up there
Judging you, me, and everybody
Judging our integrity not our sex, race, or religion
i can believe in what they teach
Or break my heart if i don't learn to follow mine
I know the difference between right and wrong
I know the difference between good and bad
I can walk into your life
Invited and blessed
By the Mezuzah nailed to the entrance of your home
By the Mezuzah coincidentally there to provide me with protection
I can walk away and give up
On this scavenger hunt to find your heart
But I know something that can’t stop me
I know it’s hanging in that doorway for me
