Beautiful Eyelashes - A Dream Of Every Woman

    By Margarita Nahapetyan

Long beautiful eyelashes have always been a dream to die for for many women and the way to achieve them in the past several years is simply to do a little trick. False eyelashes are back in fashion, but a new madness for semi-permanent eyelash extensions is also becoming more and more popular these days. However, the eye experts are cautioning women not to put fashion before their eye health when choosing to go after this look.

For a long time women have been using mascaras that provided them with fuller, voluminous, wider, longer and more beautiful lashes. However, no matter how well they serve a purpose, they are good only until the next shower. This made ladies obsessed with finding more intensive, and often not very expensive, ways to achieve the desired results, such as fake lashes and semi-permanent extensions. The first option is the thick strips of false eyelashes that are glued onto the eyelids. Attaching them involves cutting a strip of lashes to size, applying glue on it and attaching it to your eyelid. It is quite an easy procedure, though the result can sometimes be a bit messy. To avoid this, just follow these 4 simple steps:

    Step One

Choose your product carefully. The biggest mistake that is made by new false lash users is picking up the wrong style. It might seem skimpy in the packaging, but "a little false lash goes a long way," the experts say. Do not make another major mistake and always trim the strips so they fit exactly the length of your eyelids before applying them on.

    Step Two

Practice before applying your new product. Before you start getting out the glue, it will not hurt to do a few dry runs in order to get your hand trained. When you feel that you are ready, dispense a thin line of the glue all the way along your lashes, but not the eye. It is important to make sure that the glue sits on the lashes for 20 to 30 seconds so it can set before applying the lashes.

    Step Three

Do not rush. You start with fully affixing the lash to the inside corner of your eye before applying it all along the eyelid to the outer corner. Try to keep as close to the lash line as it is possible. If a make a mistake and go the wrong way do not worry, relax and carefully pull off the lash, reapply the glue all over again and make another attempt.

    Step Four

Let glue dry and assess. There can always be some minor flaws, such as small gaps between the lash line and fake lash. These could be camouflaged with liquid eyeliner. Curling all lashes and adding a layer of your favorite mascara will help your lashes look the most natural way.

The second option is eyelash extensions. In contrast to fake eyelashes, where the false ones can easily be removed after the usage, eyelash extensions are applied directly to the natural eyelashes with a bonding agent and can last for several months. This procedure requires significantly longer time and involves much more poking in the eye. To begin with, the beauty expert will need to separate your lower lashes from the upper ones, to make sure that the eyes are not glued shut. Given that your eyes are closed throughout the process, the cling film that is applied over the lower lashes to keep them from touching the upper ones, constantly goes into your eye. With cling film slightly poking the eye, the actual procedure of the lashes application is scarcely noticeable. Forget about the uncomfortable 30 minutes, and you are all set.

Use of eyelash extensions repeatedly can result in an allergic reaction and also can lead to traction alopecia, a condition where the hair starts falling out because of the excessive tension that is being put on the hair shaft. This can harm the hair follicles, therefore slowing down or even stopping the growth of hair. The experts are suggesting the following top tips to make sure that the application of lash extensions will be the right thing for you to do:

    • Have an allergy test done before using any treatment that involves chemical ingredients. Your vision is critical and that is why it is always important to take precautions and to be prepared before having any treatment.

    • If you feel any discomfort or irritation, it is very important to visit an ophthalmologist as soon as possible.

    • If you plan to go swimming or apply mascara on your eyelash extensions, always consult with the specialist first.
