  1. In case you are wondering it cost me $50 to have that bra custom made. She was always saying that she fell in between sizes, and could never find the right size. So for her birthday that same year, I took her to have her measured, so they could make her some that would fit her better. I just placed an order later using those same measurements, lol.

  2. What are your thoughts on cat-calling [shouting things at people i.e. "hey sexy!" or "dang girl/boy, you fine!"]

I absolutely hate it. I think it's SO annoying and disrespectful. It only makes you look like a total moron. Get some guts and actually go up to a girl/guy and talk to her/him, not shout random things at her/him.

Would only do that if it is someone that I knew, and I also knew that she had the sense of humor to get a kick out of it. Never to someone that I don't know, or someone that wouldnt like it. No need to embarrass anyone, because you are right, it is rude and disrespectful.

  3. So I had my first date with this guy on Saturday. Everything was cool, he was nice and we enjoyed the date.

But the thing is, that there are long gaps in conversation. He is shy. I'm usually a good conversationalist, but what can I do when someone's not really saying much?

So there's chemistry, similiar values, you name it, it's good. But what's up with the conversation? Is that a bad sign?

Anyone have a similiar experience and what do you do about it?

Only one thing that will help. Time. Eventually, he will become more confortable. As far as how long it will take, I don't know. Depends on the person.

  4. Well, sometimes I get a bit carried away with humor. I remember the first valentines day present I got for my ex wife AFTER we got married. For this to make sense, you must understand that I named her boobs. I called them whole and 2%, lmao. I had a custom bra made that had one red cup and one blue cup. It cost me more then a joke should have, but I can't stop laughing even as I am typing this. To my knowledge she still has it, even though I've only known her to wear it once. It was one of those things that seemed like a good idea at the time.

  5. No, not that way, I mean about ever finding anyone to share their life with?

Ever just get to the point where you stopped trying, or even better, stopped caring?

If you got to the point where you no longer care, how did you do it?

I think not caring is a much easier alternative than being miserable 24/7, don't you think?

I am at that point now. If you've read my posts, then you know I am going through a divorce. If I told you what she put me through, you would run from your computer in horror, lol. I was mad at the entire estrogen pool for a very long time. Actually, I'm still mad, but only at her, and possibly anyone that looks like her.

The thought of dating again actually makes me want to beat my head against a wall until I bleed. Just like a kidney stone, it will pass, eventually.

  6. Don't let your insecurities get the best of you. Who is he sleeping next to at night? I talk to my ex at times but without my current knowing. That doesn't mean I want her back or plan on cheating. It means that for several years, we had something special and we can talk every now and then.

I agree with this completely. Perhaps he should not have lied, but talking to the ex is not as serious as you might think. My mother says "worrying is like paying a debt you may never get a bill for."

In a nut shell, don't worry about the ex, but ask him not to lie anymore.

  7. " I am having some relationship issues and doubt I would be any fun. "

What the hell? She doubts it would be ANY fun? What the hell kind of comment is that? What relationship issues, is she in a relationship right now?

She doubts that SHE would be any fun. Probably because she was in a bad mood.

My 2 cents, everybody deserves a second chance.

  8. Well, this question may not have been as silly as I thought. I was just remembering something that happened when I was 17 years old. Me and a few of my buddies went to see a movie (can't even remember the movie). Of course, after buying out tickets we went to get our popcorn, candy, ect. The girl behind the counter asked if I wanted some extra butter on my popcorn. For some unknown reason, I responded with, "Nah, don't treat me special, just give me that same greasy crap you give everybody else." Well, this started an intresting conversation that resulted in the one and only time in my life I've gotten a girl's phone number without asking for it.

The date was horrible, but that's another story for another thread.

  9. Just another one of my "curiosity" questions. How much importance would you place on a good sense of humor, as opposed to everything else you look for in a person (looks, personality, ect.)?

To put it another way, would a great sense of humor make you overlook other things? Would a bad sense of humor or no sense of humor be an automatic turn-off.

This may be a silly question, but humor me. (yes, that pun was intentional)

  10. I find all, or most any dating sites pretty frightening, god knows what these people are really like, guess I'm just a wussie......

I agree, this is why I don't do online dating. I have a profile on plentyoffish, but it's mainly out of curosity, would NEVER actually meet anyone from it. Like I've said before, a 25 year old lady might actually be a 60 year old man, lol.

And before anyone says it, I do NOT think there is anything wrong with online dating. Avoiding it is simply a personal preference, nothing more.

  11. I think it is good to have a certain amount of shyness. Because when you do get through a difficult situation, does it not make you appreciate it even more? I have a certain amount of shyness when confronting something/someone i'm not comfortable with. But as i get older i look at it as a challenge & reward myself with a pat on the back.

The exhiliration of a job well done keeps your shyness in check. Or at least try and see it in that light.

    Good Luck

I can agree with this point of view.

  12. The problem is that most "nice" guys aren't assertive with women. They usually (more oft than not) try to buy women off with gifts, shower them with compliments, never speak up for themselves and generally feel insecure about themselves. They tend to be shy, passive and unsure of themselves... especially when it comes to the fairer sex.

Those are all, obviously, deal-breakers for any sensible, self-respecting woman. Women don't want a puppy to follow them around and jump when she says so. They want fun, challenge, excitement, mystery and chemistry. The nice guy tries way too hard with nice gestures and ideas to compensate for the lacking aforementioned desirable characteristics, with women. Thus, women find him unattractive, but a great "friend." They like him and think he's a "great guy", but "I just don't think of him that way."

The fairer sex?!?! I should introduce you to my exwife, lol.

  13. Indeed it is!

So you're sort of in the "rolling hills" area? Not quite mountains, not quite flat land. I tend to enjoy our state the more west I go. . . I'm in Wake County, Raleigh/Durham area myself.

Around here they call it the foothills, lol. Burke County is also reffered to as "Bloody Burke", lol. Never understood why until I served on the grand jury.

  14. Thanks for the replies, guys. And hello yourself! NC is a nice place to live, eh? Except for when it's supposed to drop to about 15 degrees tonight!

    Whereabouts are you?

Burke County. About 50 miles east of Asheville.

And cold weather is a good reason to snuggle, lol.

  15. I know, I just have to stand firm that nothing good comes from fear. Period.

This is not always true. Fear is also a safety mechanism that keeps us from doing stupid things, like smoking a cigarette while pumping gas into a car. I think it's a matter of "controlling the fear instead of letting the fear control us."
