  1. I wrote this a while ago. It's not perfect because English is not my first language, however, I hope you will understand it.

My heart burns brighter than autumn yellow,

For not even the frost shall cool it.

I look out with disbelief at our world, and

    Towards evening my thoughts

    Became uncomfortable, and grasping my

    Sword by side and scripture

In my heart, I departed the city.

I wandered past its sacred altars,

Away from brazen firesides of warmth

Beyond the gates, into a world

    Of emptiness and confusion...

I walked unto some ancient plain,

Where once raged a lesser battle –

And did arrive between these oaks,

    By silvery mist encircl'd.

There did I wander to and fro till

The setting of the daytime sun.

Then in the night, silent sat I

    Under the starless sky.

    The flame not yet quenched,

    It consuming the darkness,

As I spoke my prayer to myriad gods,

Waiting for the lark's call and

    Morning sun to pierce the horizon;

But came they not, and instead

Slowly began the rain, mingling with

My salted sorrow upon the icy ground,

As if to wash away the old,

    Then nourish the new.

    And now,

    Raising my head,

I wait for spring, but wonder

If the willow twig shall again be green.
