Scorpio8647
I mean I know it's a sign of flirting, but it always perplexes me whenever a guy does this with me. Like today at the mall, I was at the food court with my brother and this very cute guy was staring at me, we held eye contact for like 6 seconds. So after staring for awhile he winks at me. I start to laugh and smile back at him,he smiles back at me. Nothing happens & he keeps staring until I leave his sight. This has happened to me numerous times, a guy may stare and wink but he never approaches me or say anything. When someone winks are they saying.. yeah I like what I see but I don't want to talk to you? Or do they want me to approach them? I don't get what am I suppose to do in these situations. I really was interested in getting to know the guy, but I thought he would come and sit next to me instead. Instead all he did was sit and stare at me. What exactly does a wink indicate as far as flirting? Link to comment
EvaGina
argh I cant STAND winking... anyways Its a very obvious "I wanna get on you" sign. If you dont mind me asking, how old are you? I find only younger teenagers and men over 40 wink. Link to comment
Leonhart
I've never been winked at. Ever. Link to comment

EvaGina
I get winked at all the time, I cant stand it. Its sleazy. IMO, its a "I wanna hump you" action. Its ok if you know them or if you are joking with them or something, but the wink that is an obvious come-on is vile. Link to comment

applepie
ohhh no not me! I love winking. It always gets my attention. I think it's sexy. I don't really take it to mean anything except that he thinks you're cute. If he wanted me, he'd approach me and talk to me. Link to comment

It disturbs me. When it's a younger guy within a few years of my age, I take it as a compliment. Link to comment
Leonhart
I've had older ladies flirt with me and hit on me. I'd say it creeps me out, but I just think of it as them being twice my age, so it's just harmless fun. (Although maybe they don't feel that way.) I've even had them grab my rear and so on. I just laughed it off... maybe I should've been mad about it now. *Frowny face* lol Ehh, some attention is better than none at all. Basically, when it comes to middle-aged and elderly women, and attractive (but gay) men, as well as younger (but unattractive - at least, in my sight) women, I've got plenty of interested candidates! lmao Eseentially everyone, BUT the ones I find attractive! lol Link to comment
ghost69
i don't wink. i think it's lame. but if i did wink, i wouldn't expect the woman to come over and talk or anything, so i don't think he was looking for you to go over there. he was just giving a clue to him taking a liking to you it sounds. Leonidas44
Winking is great, but only when used at the right time. I would never wink at a girl I didn't know (it creeps women out, and for good reason), but I wink at girls that I know all the time. Example: I like a girl, we make eye contact in class, I give wink, mild wave, and friendly smile. I dunno, it has always gotten a good response for me (maybe 75% smile, wink, wave back success rate). But, I wouldnt NEVER do it unless a girl already me in some way. Usually, that means she knows I'm funny and harmlessly flirtatious. Link to comment
