shay1234 Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 sound familiar? yeah, well im a straight female and i have this boy bestfriend who is bisexual and leans more toward guys. we liked each other in the past and we are so close and connect so well. however, he has said he is only interested in me as a friend now, but his actions don't seem to line up with what he says. he's very flirty. im having a hard time being supportive and helping him find love interests (guys) that will make him happy because hes never been in a relationship with a guy. All i can think about is, he never even gave me the real chance to be with him. i was sort of shoved to the side during some point and never given the real chance to be his gf. That is why im frustrated, if i was ever given the opportunity to be his gf and it didnt work out then so be it. but we never officially got into a relationship. so how do i cope wiht the fact that he wants to be with other people (mostly boys over girls) without getting my own feelings hurt since i have this mind set of "hes the best, i think im in love with him" i cant seem to get past it. and when the time comes when he is with someone else, i dont know what i'll do. i'll be crushed. err i need help. any thoughts?
hosswhispra Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 This is a difficult thing. I have been in this situation myself before. There isn't anything you can do but accept your 'relationship' for what it is. It is what it is. It's a truly unique sort of relationship and you have a special bond. If you think about it, this 'relationship'/friendship probably will last longer than a romantic one would. And at least to me, that's a better thing than any romantic relationship.
darkpumpkin Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 I totally agree with hosswhispra, it is what it is. I went through the same thing. And it was not easy. It hurt. But if you choose to stick with this friendship it will get easier and the jealousy will fade.
