Scout Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 I'm eight weeks along, and so far, haven't experienced it. I've had a couple of instances where I felt light nausea, but that was it. Is this normal?
Hubbys_glitter_is_gold Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 yea it is...I never got morning sickness when i was pregnant..its absolutely normal.
melrich Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 I read once that something like 70% get some nausea and 30% none at all. So yes I think it is normal and you are very lucky so far.
southerngirl Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 I got it terribly with my first...all day... all night.... I felt like crawling into a hole... But 2nd not so much... only at night... and this last time not at all. Although she was a girl and the others were boys.
rocio Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 I only experienced it at first until I figured out that I shouldn't have an empty stomach. As soon as I started eating regular snacks throughout the day, I never experienced it again.
justpaisley Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 I didn't, thank goodness. I have this wholly irrational fear of vomiting. I did get a little nauseated at some smells, but no vomiting.
caro33 Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 The stuff I have read said that 50% don't get it (but maybe the stats here are rubbery) and for those who do, it's the full range of light occasional queasiness to full vomiting all day. So you might actually count as a morning sickness person just from the instances of light nausea you've been having. It can also come on later - I think for some it doesn't come on until the second/third month, but it can also go away by mid second trimester. There are also things that some women do to help them not have morning sickness, there are triggers to avoid, like cooking smelling things for others, not eating breakfast (even just dry crackers) etc. Maybe you've been doing these anyway (that is, avoiding triggers) which has meant less likelihood of sickness. Not having morning sickness is great!
fnlyfrei Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 I had three babies...I threw up my shoes for three months each pregnancy...that is NINE MONTHS of vomiting ! You lucky duck.
Scout Posted February 16, 2007 Author Posted February 16, 2007 I don't have any food aversions except I don't crave or want coffee, anymore. In fact, the thought of it makes me feel slightly repelled. Interestingly, I did have a very light episode of morning sickness today, for the first time...I actually threw up, but only a very, very minimal amount, and then I felt fine...(sorry if TMI)
Ash Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 Coffee is definitely one of the things M doesn't want to even be near anymore. Chocolate is another, and she normally loves that. Exhaust fumes were a bad one for my ex-wife. Whenever a bus or truck passed by she'd step to the curb and ... Hope you're not too ill with it all.
Scout Posted February 16, 2007 Author Posted February 16, 2007 Hi, Ash...no, I just had one very brief episode yesterday morning, and that was all I've had to date.
Hope75 Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 I have a friend who is expecting her second baby (her first is 11 months old and she's 6 months pregnant!) and her husband has had a radar for detecting when she's pregnant. This second time, they went out to eat and she ordered cheese fries. He pointed at her and said "You're pregnant!" She was not even late and had no reason to suspect she was- and sure enough a few weeks later she tested and she was! He said it was the cheese fries that gave her away.
