iwishiknew
I play hockey and last week I had a groin pull and its still so sore..I could walk, just bending, squatting, lifting heavy stuff is so sore and I can feel the pull..What are some ways to get it healed fast? Would wraping it up with sport bandage a good idea? Quote Link to comment
MacGyverRI
I had a groin pull that turned into a hernia because they do not heal easily unless you do nothing to aggravate it again. I'm dreading going to the specialist to get it repaired, hopefully w/ the mesh as an outpatient rather than the semi major? surgery. Quote Link to comment
iwishiknew
Whats the difference between a hernia and a groin pull..I thought those 2 are very related Quote Link to comment
MacGyverRI
Your guts push out through the tear (hernia) when the tear doesn't heal, gets worse and you have to keep pushing them back in..... google "hernia" Quote Link to comment

EvaGina
I have strained my groin before, not from sports, I just ate heaps of painkillers and anti-flammes I dont really know what to say, I was addicted to painkillers by that time (I had some really bad accidents) and I pretty much just sat at home and drank, so it got a lot of rest Quote Link to comment
charley
I had that once, but only moderatley so. Not severe. My brother-in-law got a severe groin pull on the job in a construction accident a week before his wedding. Hilarious because he couldn't do anything on the honeymoon. Well, we all assumed he couldn't and we laughed ourselves silly. He could barely walk. So I don't think honeymoon activities were on his menu. I doubt that he and my sister had sex until a month after they were married. Ha ha. Quote Link to comment
charley
See a doctor. Give it time to heal because if you pull it worse, or continue using it, it might never heal right, or get worse. Don't want to feel like this forever, right? Get better. Quote Link to comment

BeStrongBeHappy
i pulled a tiny (but strong) muscle that joins the hip to the thigh bone called something like the iliopsis in the groin area during a ballet class... i still remember that terrible little muscle, because it hurt like heck for a really long time and i almost couldnt walk... just make sure to get it checked in case it is hernia... those can be dangerous in the groin if untreated... iwishiknew
Another question I have..It has been about 2 weeks and my groin feels much better than it did weeks ago..I want to go skating again next week..If I do go skating, should I wrap up my groin the upper thigh area with athletic wrap? Not sure if I should wrap it or not, will wraping it up cause it to pull again cause of no circulation? What should I do? I don't want to pull it again. Quote Link to comment
