under_the_pressure Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 I want to get my man something special. We've been together 2 years, & I want to set something up for us to do. I don't just want to get him some chocolates or a teddy bear and that's it. I want to set up for us to go somewhere, and do something. But I don't know what. & then on top of that I want to get him a gift. Any ideas on where we could go? What we could do? & what I could get him? thanks.
Momene Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 I would advise against a meal out as most restaurants are crowded on the day. Something like a theatre trip might be a good idea.
Scout Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 Can you cook...even at least one or two dishes? If so, maybe you could transform your living room into a really romantic atmosphere, and set up a table for two in there. Lots of candles, soft music...I bet your boyfriend would be more touched that you cooked for him than getting him a present. Of course, a card would be nice, and maybe even a CD you burned of songs that have special meaning to you two.
valiantv Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 Maybe we should start a valentine's day brain-storming session on the forum ;-) (in other words, you guys should all give me ideas!)
addictedblue Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 you know your boyfriend, we don't, so you know what he likes. i could think of a million suggestions but over half of them wouldn't apply to you anyway. you know what he loves so do something around that. make his favorite dinner, or favorite dessert, take him to an event he likes, get him something you've noticed him wanting for awhile, anything you know he'll like.
xmrth Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 I think you should definitely go out to a nice restaurant. There's really not much more people out for dinner than there is any Saturday night. Last Valentine's day my boyfriend and I went to a typically quiet restaurant and it was terrible! Lots of people adds to the atmosphere for some reason. And don't worry about it being filled with other couples-- it basically always is no matter what night. Especially at your age, it's some place to GO to that is easy and can be so much fun-- my boyfriend and I make it a point to go out for a nice dinner every Saturday night! We go out to really nice restaurants, get drinks (you're not 21 yet, but when you are that is an idea) and when there's entertainment like singing or a nice band or something, it's the best. We'll probably go out for a nice dinner for V-day too. Something you can make him I would suggest is get one single scrapbook page and buy a scrapbook page frame. Or make a scrapbook. But you could contain a lot of creative things into one page that he can hang on his wall framed and things like that.
annie24 Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 doesn't v day this year fall on a wednesday? maybe it's better to go out that weekend instead. As for what to give him, what is he like? is there anything he has been wanting for a while? Unless he likes chocolates! Go to link removed and see if there are any interesting shows comiing through town, not even on V-day, but just in general. What is your budget? You can make him dinner and burn him a mixed CD, I think that would be nice and inexpensive.
