When is nc not the best course of action?

It seems to me that all the advice here leads to nc. When is this not the correct course of action or if you excuse the pun, inaction.

I personally think that the ONLY times NC wouldn't be the best course of action is if:

 

A) YOU are the dumper (obviously)

B) You break up mutually because of distance or school

C) You were dumped, and now you really want to drive that person away for good.

 

In all other cases I feel NC is the best course of action (or reactive LC in some cases, like mine). It's best whenever you've been dumped, whether you want that person back at all or just want to move on with your life. JMO.

If you have children with your ex, or financial matters, etc..... then NC may be impossible. But you can still practice limited contact.

When you don't want to sever contact. You might want to help each other cope with the breakup. Not a common approach, but it's possible.

When your ex broke up with you because you seemed distant and too busy for them, while they were left wanting more from the relationship than they were getting.

The only times I can think of have been mentioned...if you have kids or if you're the dumper.

Amen, Jayar. If your SO dumped you because they thought you didn't care about them anymore...going NC will just reaffirm their hypothesis.

When you still have something left to say. That's why it's best to get everything out in the open so no regrets. No reading hidden intentions. Get your answer and move on in one direction or the other.
