Spugly,

I've been able to smell and hear (and just plain notice) things that others couldn't too. Not necessarily the period thing you mention, but a couple times I smelled that someone was bleeding from relatively small cuts on his hand before he even realized he was bleeding.

Another time I walked in my house and immediately heard something different about the echoes. I walked straight upstairs and opened a particular kitchen cupboard. It was newly emptied. My Roomate who was moving for the summer had emptied it out. It was like my ears were telling me exactly what was different but I wasn't aware of it consciously at all. And my hearing is weird too because I have a lot of trouble disinguishing if there is too much background noise so I don't know if there is a correlation there.

Yep, Spugs is dyslexic not autistic. I have never heard of someone truly being able to tell by smell, that it's that time of the month for a woman.

I would tend to think it might be a very small chance on a rare occasion to detect it if a woman were not changing pads regularly enough, at which time the old blood could get a distinct odor.

IF you think you are able to detect womens periods by smell all or most of the time, then you may have a extremely keen sense of smell.

In animals, pheremone output during menses can be detected olfactorally by ALL animals. There are humans who have more animal-like sensory capabilities like this too.

THese are people who seem to not get stung by mosquitos when everyone else is, who see in the dark a little better, who hear the imperceptable electronic noise that tvs and computers give off but can't distinguish a lone voice in a crowd, and can smell not just blood, but the blood that signals a female in heat or about to be...

(I took several semesters of Zooology, I am not just full of it)

That's trippy.

I've been accused very often of having overly accute senses, and being aware of things. Didn't think of it like being 'animalistic' or anything, just never could figure out why some things seem so plain to me that others can't see sometimes. Have a Native American friend and he said he and his friends all agreed I have 'the spirit of the eagle'. Heck if I know what that means. He gave me an eagle feather though (good luck, i guess?). Did youall ever talk about any of that in your class?

BTW, haven't had a mosquito bite in years, and been bee stung only once.

Well Spugley, that is one pretty useless Superpower.

Pity you didn't get X-Ray vision.

I wouldn't say that; to know a woman is menstruating can come in handy for self-defense. Ever wonder why Clark had so much trouble with Lois? Thats right; he got on her bad side during her period. His alternate persona, i.e. Superman, was never with her long enough to piss her off.

Wait, I thought that was only stuff that ever happened with animals?

But I'm weird because I have never gotten bit by a moquito, I can see better in the dark than light, and I can hear a TV on in the house next to me but yet can barely hear someone right next to me (I'm half deaf from a head injury last year). Weird.

Yep... I originally got interested in it from my zooology prof who told us that humans put off pheremones just like animals, just that we are no longer sensative to them since we have artificial smells.

I did a paper on it using myself as an example. I can't go outdoors without getting stung by a wasp ( over 50 times last year alone), can't hear worth a crap, can barely see during the day, much less at night, and my nose only seems to work after I have burned the enchiladas....

But on the up side, I do have other super powers.... mwah-hah-ha
