REDIRECT43
Hey all...the guy I'm dating just sent me a text messag saying "Hey, surprised you left so early last night...too drunk I suppose." I have no idea what he's talking about. I saw him last Friday night at a bar but I left kind of early. I've never heard of text messages taking that long to send. Has this happened to anyone? Sally00
It could happen. Text messaging sucks. I used to have it and got charged for all these text messages I never got and never sent. Then I deleted the text messaging thing. So, receiving a late one is possible. Link to comment

Hey, Sally then I have a question for you. I'm thinking of blocking my service if possible too. But more because I want to discourage certain people from copping out of real communication by texting me. My question is: If I block it, what message will they get when they try to send a text to me? Will they no I don't have service, or will they think I've received the message? Link to comment
annie24
hm. maybe you won't like to hear this.... but maybe he was text messaging ANOTHER girl he met last night at the bar? (or at least trying to, but accidentally texted you) Link to comment

I wouldn't block text messaging. sometimes, it can be really helpful. however, just tell people you don't like text messages, and either don't respond to them, or respond only 2 times a week? like, on mondays and thursdays, and that's it. Oh sorry, and to answer your question, No, I have NEVER heard of a text taking days to go through. a few hours yes, not days. I really think it's more likely he was drunk and trying to text a different girl. sorry. Link to comment

annie24
well... it's quite possible! I hate to say this, but redirect's previous posts were about having sex with the guy on the first date, and then being confused about some of his actions. So, they've only been dating, maybe 1-2 weeks, tops? I really wouldn't be surprised if he has another woman (or few!) in the picture. After all, you two aren't exclusive or anything. And yes, I have had a guy call me, not recognize my voice, and talk to me thinking I was another girl he was seeing! that ended quite fast. Link to comment

Call your phone service about this... I told them to just delete the service because I didn't want to deal with that and their phony charges (no pun intended). Link to comment

annie24
I was going to suggest, as a way to figure out if he texted that to her on purpose or trying to contact someone else, she just call and say, "(Laughing), I see you had a few too many drinks and accidentally sent this text to me instead of someone at the bar." If he meant to send it to you, he will sound puzzled like, "huh? I sent you a text 4 days ago! you just got it now....?" If he meant to send it to someone else, he will be a bit sheepish like, "oops, I did have too much to drink that night I guess...." Link to comment

Yes believe it or not this happens quite a bit. In europe I found it a problem big time. Sometimes I would get two messages of the same message and when I asked whoever why they sent it twice the erply was always "I didnt, I sent it once". I am not sure what causes it but imagine if you get dropped phone calls and it happens with a txt message its gone. Link to comment
REDIRECT43
Well, he told me he sent it Saturday night. On Friday I saw him at the bar but I left right after he got there. At that point I had written him off and figured he wasn't too into me. I text him back being like "Huh?" And he said he's been having problems with his phone. He just got a new phone number yesterday. Who knows? Then he asked me to go play mini golf on Sunday?! I had totally written this guy off! So I accepted...he's a fun guy, very nice and I would like to see how this goes, but taking it very very slow. The text message thing was a bit weird though. Link to comment
REDIRECT43
And I just read your thread Annie, about that guy. What a moron! Boy are you lucky that never flowered into anything! Yikes! Link to comment
