Hey,there's this guy on my older brothers hockey team(hes 21 im 19). And i've been interested in him since i meet him in december(2005). He flirted with me and i flirted with him that first day we meet...I had a boyfriend at the time tho(that relationship is over so now im single) so we talked in december.Then this past friday I went to the hockey game with my brother and after there game we went out to the bar and I was sitting with my brother this guy i like and one of his friends, and my cousion. My cousion was hitting on his friend, and my brother had left to play pool. This guy i like his name is Ian. And so we were sitting beside eachother and just talking. He kept looking me in the eyes and when i was talking about getting a piercing he said not to cuz i look good the way i am. It was sweet(haha) Anyways as it got later in the evening we started drinking more i was a little drunk and i think he was too. My cousion was trying to get Ians best friend to come over to my place(she was staying with me) but this guy she was hitting on had a good girlfriend. So Ian is sorta the responsable one and kept telling him no not to come over(they were driving together,Ian and his friend) The my cousion started talking to Ian accross me so i was in the middle of the two of them. She was saying things like common ian you know it would be good, and fun. and hes like yea it would be but we can't...then my cousion said well at least think about it,and he said he already had but it woujldnt be a good idea. So im not sure if he was talking about me or about my cousion and his friend??????. Then he told me that he would come and it would be fun but for tyson's sake he can't come.(tyson's his friend). Then we left shortly after that no special bye, just see ya later sorta thing. Then on sunday after their hockey game some of the guys came back to our place to watch the superbowl. Ian was here, but he didn't say much to me, maybe like 3 sentences. He glanced at me a bit but that was it....Then when they left they all left together i was outside with my dog, and he looked at me and kinda winked and said cya later. So im not sure what to think about it....I'll see him again on Friday but thats still a week away. Im debating wheather or not to call him this week. Since I really really like him and I want him to know it....What do you think I should do, call or not call? does he like me or does he not? Im lost and confussed. HELP!

Hey girl! Sounds like he's interested, take it easy! I'd wait and see what happens next week. If you're gonna see him anyway, maybe give him a chance to ask you out? I am sorry, I am so oldfashioned haha. Of COURSE you can call him. There are many guys on this very forum that wished us girls would take more initiative

 

Did he give you his number? If so, it's definitely an ok to call him. If you feel you will be too nervous, just flirt a bit next week, and ask him out then (if he does not ask you out, which would surprise me if he didn't!!!)

he didn't give me his number just he had meantioned to me that i have his number...I guess he meant like through my brother. But yeah i'd be a little nervous calling him cuz i'd have NO idea of what to say. so waiting till friday might be a good idea. and if he doesn't ask me out do I just ignore it or what do i do in that situation? Also why did he sorta ignore me on sunday? we were in the same room for like 3 hrs?

As I get it, you were in company first, right? Then later outside, he glanced and winked. I'd try and remember the last thing that happened when you were alone. I think a guy in the midst of his friends, might not openly flirt even if he likes the girl. Maybe he doesn't want to when amongst his buddies?

 

I think you should wait and see, in what kind of occasion are you seeing him next week?

Umm they have a game and after that i think we're going to the bar. If not they might be coming back to my place since my family is gone for the weekend. So you think he was just a little shy around the guys, makes sense I guess. Do you think the idea of him being friends with my brother be an issue?

Yes, of course. Your brother might even be protective about you towards him. I know I'd be more cautious around family members of my friends! Don't worry, I think you can safely trust the gut feeling you had when he was paying attention to you, glancing and winking. Just see where it goes next week and please let us know!

 

And... him telling 'you have my number...' is a great hint of interest! I think he'd like you to call, however I'd still wait and see. But don't think I am like a guru here, I am awfully shy when it comes to boys, as we have a Dutch proverb for it "I always watch the cat out of the tree" (I wait before I do something...)

Yea my brother is a really nice guy and ian is a friend to him so yea i'm just scared that thats going to be an issue for him..I guess we'll see, if he doesnt ask me out on friday what do u suggest me doing? And i will forsure let you know what happens!

Well, you can call him, and just make some small talk. I heard a great way of asking a guy out, at least I'd have liked what I heard a girl say on tv to a dude over the phone... it was 'hey what are you doing? Oh, sounds boring, do you want to hang out there and there?' I thought that was marvelous.
