Warbeast
Yes I am going to make a CD of sweet songs for a girl that I am trying to get. I want to make her think wow he is sweet and all, I want to be with her. I am going to give her this CD on Vday, the songs need to be like kind of rock, but not like metal or anything. You think you all could help me out with some suggestions of artists and songs...thanks! Link to comment
AwdreeHpburn
cute idea - here are some of my suggestions - a bit cheesy and a bit 80's but rockish-type love songs none-the-less Friday I'm in Love - The Cure Love of a Lifetime - Firehouse Wait - White Lion To Be With You - Mr. Big Every Breath You Take - Sting (although a bit stalker-ish...) Love Song - The Cure (I sorta like The Cure...) Good luck. I hope she likes it. I think its a neat idea. Let us know what you come up with! Link to comment

RIPDIME
Actualy, they should be metal for a few reasons. If you put together a good metal CD, it will probably the first time shes heard metal. Now if she actualy listens to it a few times im going to guarantee you that she would love it because metal is that good. Now whenever she thinks of who started her on metal she will think of you and even so at the time if she likes it she will like it a lot. That or put some catchy punk tunes like the misfits or the ramones, but dont burn her songs that are not yourself, just burn her what you like because in the end thats what girls really dig, being yourself. AwdreeHpburn
Being yourself is a good idea for sure, but the gift is for her so it should be filled with things SHE will like. The part that is YOU being yourself is the creative, thoughtful, and sentimental idea. Link to comment
RIPDIME
Yes but you see with a music cd unless you know what artists or specific genre or sub genre they are into then its pretty pointless. This girl could like anything from gothic death-metal to golden oldies. I do realize that there is this stereotype that girls are into mostly soft love songs but I know a lot of girls who are not. Best bet is find out what shes into or just burn songs that you think sound good, because in the end if you do something for her no matter what her tastes she will appreciate it (girls love time wasted for them). easyguy
If she was into jazz at all, I would highly recommend Miles Davis playing "My Funny Valentine", but that's probably considered too old by her standards. Some jazz can be incredibly romantic, but it's an acquired taste type of music. Link to comment
AwdreeHpburn
Oh - I guess I took the comment that is should be rock - not metal to mean that he already knew what she was into. If not, then I agree that he should find out. But I don't think girls look at thoughtful gifts as wasted time. Link to comment
RIPDIME
What I meant was girls like thought and time put into something for them. Link to comment
lillady898
I like some rock, but don't like metal at all... I probably wouldn't go in that direction unless you knew she liked metal. Link to comment
AwdreeHpburn
I knew that's what you meant RIPDIME, and I appreciate the time you put into that... Link to comment

PeteMcAvoy
I was writing my card to my girl the other day and I wrote all kinds of slushy stuff coz I was listening to a pop song; Beautiful Soul by Jesse McCartney, so I think that's well romantic at the moment. It's not at all rocky or punkie but its romantic? Link to comment
