shelbymustang_fan
So I joined the Latin Dance Club at College. We just had our third meeting tonight. One of my dance partners is single, (I think). She is cool and seems like my type. I'd like to ask her out, but its more complicated. I have made many friends through the club. One of them is a male about my age who I think has interest in her also. He is 21 years old. I am 20 1/2 years old. My problem is 1) I'm afraid of causing tension because I actually enjoy the dance club. 2) She will be 21 on Monday...Some people from the club go are going to go clubbing next week, and I think she plans on going too, along with my male friend. I'm afraid he'll get her first because I can't go clubbing (obviously because of my age). I wanted to ask her out so badly tonight, but It felt awkward because he was nearby the whole time. So what can I do??? Please help. PS. I'm not sure if they'll go clubbing before or after our next meeting. Link to comment
friscodj
Yeah, I've never been big on competing for a girl...I just think it is silly... You need to get her alone or away from this other guy somehow, then ask her for her number or ask her out and go from there...just do it...don't think about the consequences... As far as the timing. Well, you've got to feel the situation out. If she seems interested in this other guy, then you should probably ask her out soon and make the date soon. When you show up for the date, make sure she knows it's a date...I like to bring her a rose... If she doesn't seem interested in this other cat, then you can relax a little more... Ultimately though, if things are meant to be for you two, it will happen regardless of another guy in the picture...so don't sweat the situation too much... Link to comment
shelbymustang_fan
I agree with not competing for women. Also, at the end of the session, I was walking to my car, and she caught up to me and asked me when I was turning 21. I told her "in june", then she said "Ok, We'll have to go again this summer when you can go. Does this mean anything??? Anybody else with suggestions on this, and my first post??? Link to comment

Hey that sounds like a good sign to me my man. She's basically asking you out right there! Now does this mean she "like likes" you or just "likes" you as a friend? We don't know for sure...but it is something to go on...and she is definitely showing interest in you... SO... What you should do now is follow this up and get together sooner than June, because things can happen between now and then. Next time you see her, remind her of this conversation you guys had and ask her if she'd like to get together after the next session for coffee or for an activity or interest you two have in common... And remember this, if this relationship with this woman is really meant to be, this age "gap" won't matter...so if things don't work out, she's not for you anyway... Link to comment
shelbymustang_fan
So what if this other guy does ask her out this week before our next meeting? Would it be wrong for me to ask her out as well??? Link to comment
