Special christmas letter...

I am a male, writing a short letter to a male friend in a christmas card. Everyone looks for true friends in life, and I've always been taken advantage of by everyone, except for now. My friend bought me something for christmas which was totally surprising, so I decided to go get him something, and a card with it. What should I say in this card? I want him to know how much i appreciate him as a friend and how much it means to me. but i dont want to go overboard with the whole idea. I just want it to mean something good to my friend.
