A friend just sent me this. I think it rings true:

In time

In time, you learn that in order to be happy with someone else, you must

realize, you dont need him/her.

You also notice that the person you think you love and doesnt care about

you, is definitely not the man/woman of your life.

You learn to love yourself, take care of yourself, and most of all, to love

the ones that really love you.

The secret is not to go searching for butterflies, but if you take care of

your own garden...they will come to you.

Then you realize, instead of looking for someone you want....you might be

found by someone who has been looking for you.

Typical, Napoleon. lol. Anything to stir up a debate. Where have you been anyway? you've not been on much.

Anyway, Unfortunately I can't debate, because I semi agree with you.

I think love has a certain element of 'need' in it. There's a quote...

Immature love says: 'I love you because I need you.' Mature love says 'I need you because I love you.'

Erich Fromm

Basically what you're saying, IWOKEUP, is that if you 'love' yourself, others will follow.

You must 'realise' that you don't 'need' your partner or any partner for that matter.

If you don't 'need' your partner, why would you be in a relationship? Comfort? Security?
