Do guys really like to talk on the phone?

I'm just wondering how many of you would get upset if your s/o only called you a few times a week? I read this book called He's just not that into you and it said if the guy isn't calling you he's not really thinking about you. I'm not sure if I totally agree because I think that some guys prefer the girl to call them or they don't really pay to much attention to who's doing the calling? I really don't think guys care all that much.

Well from me personally I think that guys just feel uncomfortable on the phone sometimes. I have been in a relationship for 6 months and we call each other everyday on the phone at least once. I enjoy talking on the phone to her to cuz I get to hear her voice and how her day went. But, sometimes it just turns into those ackward moments of silence because nothing interesting can be thought of. Its not that guys dont care, cuz I certainly do. Its just that women usually are the more talkative type of people.

I hate the phone. I rather talk about things in person. Basically I would prefer to use the phone to set up plans to go out and then while we're out, we'll talk. However, this does not always work so well if you dont get to see your partner enough

I, myself don't mind talking on the phone for hours on end. I used to do all the time to pretty much all of my girlfriends.

Actually I just read something on this recently. Guys take heed at this advice....and all video game players lol

See...not all, but most guys think of the phone as a 'tool' in order to set up dates, and to meet in person etc... Girls think of it as a second form of communication next to their mouth and can also....multitask. hah, when most guys are on the phone, we can't do more than one thing at a time, so we get bored or just don't get anything done.

 

If you want my opinion tho, I do my best not to spend more than 10 mins on the phone with a girl....if I call her, it's to say "I was thinking of you"...or to ask her out to do something. She's called me before and expected to talk for a while, but I'll cut it off myself because I don't want to be on the phone that long. I'd rather be w/ her in person than talking on the phone for hours on end.

ive had gfs that wanted to talk on the phone all the time. when we got together it was like we had nothing left to talk about. i rather enjoy my time away from you and enjoy my time with you.

True, some guys are not phone people, and true, some guys don't call because "they are just not that into you." Take that book with a grain of salt -- it seems to give some good advice, but the best judge of what's going on is your head and heart. If you boyfriend doesn't call you and makes you call all the time and initiate plans, then he's being inattentive. If he does call you but not that much and only to make plans, maybe he is one of those people who don't chat on the phone.

 

Your gut should tell you what's going on. In the end, if it really bothers you that he doesn't call more, you should tell him.

It depends on your relationship with the guy really. If he knows you well, and feel comfortable talking to you he will call often. I know guys that want to call up girls that they like but were too afraid to do so, simply because they don't know what to say to the girls.

For the part not really thinking about you, i dont think so. I myself have the girl that i like on my mind a lot of time. I would like to call her sometime but there is not much to say since i don't feel comfortable talking to her. This happeneds to alot of people, especially when you know that "It's that girl/guy you like on the other line."

I definitely dont agree with the "I read this book called He's just not that into you and it said if the guy isn't calling you he's not really thinking about you." My boyfriend calls me, but our conversations arent that long... hes told me several times that hes just not a phone person. I think we actually send text messages more than we talk on the phone. I guess it just depends on what you're comfortable with.
